SAFETY EYEWEAR

By June 20, 2017 Safety Blog

Mark chose to discuss eyewear safety in the workplace this past Monday, as this is a topic that is extremely important in our facility!

To ensure safety in any work area, remember to check your work station for potential eye hazards – if there is a safeguard missing, stop the work task and correct the problem.

Secondly, always wear approved safety glasses, goggles or face shields.  The type of protection needed depends on the work task.

If you do get some debris in your eye, do not rub or scratch it!  Rubbing the eye can cause small abrasions on the cornea, resulting in injury or infection. Instead, find a rinsing station or a saline bottle to rinse out the debris.

Stay safe this week, and remember to protect your eyes!
