This week we discussed Safety Glasses in our Monday Safety Talk. Safety Glasses play an important part of protecting our eyes at work from various hazards. They need to be worn at all times in the workplace.
Workers experience eye injuries on the job for two major reasons:
- They were not wearing any eye protection.
- They were wearing the wrong kind of protection for the job.
Did you know that employees who work in an office setting can also suffer from eye hazards? Computer Vision Syndrome/Digital Eye Strain is a group of vision-related problems that result from prolonged computer use. To avoid digital eye strain in the workplace follow the 20/20/20 rule: Take a 20 second break every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away.
We hope everybody has a safe week!
