PPE in the Work Place

By August 10, 2017 Safety Blog

As Monday was a holiday here in New Brunswick, we kicked off the work week with a Tuesday morning safety talk on the importance of personal protective equipment!  While it is important to wear PPE in a potentially harmful situation, finding the RIGHT PPE for the job is even more important.

If our staff is walking through the factory, a pair of safety glasses are a minimum requirement.  If someone is welding or grinding, on the other hand, the use of a welding shield is mandatory.  Welding shields are necessary to protect from harmful UV lights, flying sparks and debris.

On the quality side of things, Mark reminded our staff that doing it right the first time is always the goal!  As John Wooden once said, “if you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”  From the order-taking stage to the final inspection stage, we strive for success.  Communication, evaluation and improvement initiatives are some of the tools we use to ensure our products are of the highest quality when they reach our valued customers.

Have a safe week everyone!
