Workplace Inspections

By January 15, 2018 Safety Blog

How do you keep your work place safe?  Here, we believe the best practice is to be proactive instead of reactive.  Specifically in this circumstance, workplace inspections help prevent incidents, injuries and illnesses.  With such a busy shop (and numerous work stations) it would be easy to miss a hazard, so we try our best to be diligent!

Mark explains the importance of frequent inspections.

Through a critical examination of the workplace, inspections help to identify and record hazards for corrective actions.  As an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer – www.iso.org – we strive for continuous improvement, and have developed committees to aid in prevention and corrective action, as mentioned above. Health and safety committees can help plan, conduct, monitor and report inspections.

Regular workplace inspections are an important part of the overall occupational health and safety management system.  By consistently checking our work areas, we keep our company accountable!

These frequent inspections ensure that each employee’s work space is as safe as possible: broken pallets may need to be removed, debris may need to be swept off the floor, a work station tool may need maintenance, and so on.

With all that said, there are two simple rules we follow to help prevent incidents:

  1. Use discretion as you complete jobs
  2. Report risks as soon as you see them to prevent injury to yourself or others
