This week Mark had some important safety tips for using a fire blanket in our facility. Although these instructions are specific to our own building, the points below are still relevant and may be used in your work place as well! Please read on below:
- In the event of a fire we also have this device in the first aid room.
- This container holds a 6X8 foot blanket.
- The blanket is covered in a fire extinguishing material.
- In the event of a fire this can be used to extinguish it however it does have another important purpose.
- The intent of this blanket is to help someone that had accidently caught on fire .
- It is very simple to use:
- Open the lid ¼ turn.
- Remove the blanket and rip open the protective wrap . Cover the injured the person with the blanket and hold it on them.
- The solution on the blanket will help the injured person not only by putting out the fire but give pain relief to the burned or injured area.
- This is located in the first aid room.
