TAKE ANOTHER LOOK

By June 6, 2016 Safety Blog

As we do ever Monday, Safety Mark gathered the crew for a highlight on safety to start the day. This time, his talk was entitled, Take Another Look.  He started by explaining that he knew everybody says, “Why and I doing this check on my forklift?” “Why do I need to sign-off on my crane?” “Why do we do month safety inspections?” Then he explained how they can save someone, or even you, from an injury.

Mark explained the types of, seemingly, remedial tasks we so in the name of safety that make a big difference. “We all work in a very busy environment, however, we need to take the time to check our gear and check ourselves. Ask yourself if what you are doing is safe.” Mark followed up with, “It only takes a minute to check your equipment, and just seconds to get injured. It is really better to take the time to make certain all your equipment in is working order.”IMG_0274

Employees were reminded of the inspection booklets that must be filled out daily for each of the lift trucks. Different hazards were highlighted to make staff aware of the actual danger they pose, not just a check point on a list.
